ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Pediatric Dentistry department at S.C.B Dental College and Hospital is unique of its kind in providing full spectrum of services for all children at every stage of their lives from infancy through adolescence including those with special and complex oral health needs, and patients with special developmental and behavioral health care needs. Our clinics provide comprehensive oral health examinations, oral hygiene practices, fluoride treatments, sealants application, restorative procedures (fillings, crowns, etc.), extractions and minor surgical procedures, space-maintainers, habit breaking appliances for deleterious oral habits, interceptive orthodontic when applicable, and urgent care (trauma, infection, etc.). The Department of Pediatric Dentistry fosters outreach and scholarly activity through the education of postgraduate and undergraduate programs.
The primary vision of the department is to render high quality patient services to the needful individuals and lead the specialty to newer horizon by integrating innovation, technology and community services into the academic curriculum. To achieve this goal the department constantly strives to utilize the vast experience of teaching faculty, encourage community based dental learning programs and create an atmosphere encouraging research activities.

CLINICAL MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENTS
The Department of Pediatric Dentistry comprises of all modern equipments such as surgical microscope, endomotors, operation theatre for surgical procedures, B class autoclave for optimum sterilization, rubber dams for isolation, electric pulp tester, soldering and welding unit for orthodontic purpose, pre trimmed semi permanent crowns etc . The department has two intraoral CMOS sensor for obtaining quick and high quality radiographic images.
